ESPN PRE-GAME TAILGATE

OVERVIEW

In the lead-up to kickoff, KPTR produced the large-scale ESPN The Tailgate at the Santa Clara Convention Center—a four-hour, private, secure-perimeter high-energy environment blending hospitality, interactive activations, branded moments, and entertainment designed to capture the anticipation and momentum of Super Bowl Sunday.

Built to accommodate a dynamic, high-volume audience, the vision of the space was to create an upscale sports bar – lux leather and modern wood slats mixed with plenty of large LED screens to create a masculine design that was welcoming and built to get guests Super Bowl ready while maintaining a polished, executive-level guest experience. The team featured a mix of digital and print graphics to create large-scale moments of impact: “The Tailgate” – Seahawks v Patriots – with player imagery and team graphics in both large and small touches throughout. Guests experienced a range of interactive activations, including a welcome photo op, gaming elements, a hologram photobooth, customized beanie station, centralize and elevated DJ, along with a full size punting competition with ex-NFL pro. The elevated hospitality featured premium gameday food and beverage offerings with bar setup and service geographically designed to be highly efficient prioritizing flow and accessibility.

As the final touchpoint before the game, the tailgate served as a catalyst for energy and connection—bringing ESPN VIPs, partners, and executives together in a shared moment of build-up before walking across the street to Levi Stadium for kick-off.
